Default Cc: Pirate!

Well, lets be honest, you all know what a pirate is. This is the Guild Wars version of the Generic pirate.

Melee/med range
Med armor (max 70AL)
med energy

Atrributes:

Swashbuckling (primary)
For each point of swashbuckling, you gain a 1% chance to parry any melee attack skills, and all spell damage is reduced by 1 damage, per point.

Skills:

Drunken Stance: 10/-/20
For 1...10...12 seconds, you have a 50% chance to dodge attacks.

Corsairs Grasp (Elite) 5/-/20
Touch Hex. You catch opponents Clothing. This target moves 50% slower for 5s and takes double damage from your next attack. this skill ends if opponent uses a speed boost.

Alcoholism: no inherent effect. All skills that are related to alcoholism are tied with this attribute.

Light match 5/2/10
Skill. Your next targeted alcohol attack deals 1...8...12 damage and sets the target on fire for 1..3...5 seconds.

Whiskey Burn 10/1/10
Touch Attack. Throw whiskey in target foe's face. Target becomes blinded for 1...4...6 seconds and has an additional 25% chance to take a critical while blinded.

Numbing Rum: 10/2/30
Swig Numbing Rum. For 10...18...22 seconds, you take 5...10...13 less damage in melee, and become immune to bleeding and disease. When Numbing rum ends, you are poisoned for 10s.

Rapier Mastery
With each point, you gain higher damage with rapiers (same as mastery attribs now)

Armor Chink: 5/ /10
Rapier Attack. Attack a chink in opponents armor. The damage from this skill is counted as though the target has -20 armor.

Thrusting wound 10/ /15
Rapier attack. Deals +5...13...16 piercing damage, and target bleeds for 5...10...13s

Boastfulness
No inherent. increases effect of boastfulness skills

"Shiver Me Timbers!" 15/-/45
Shout. Shiver timbers of all adjacent foes. that foe is interrupted, and if that foe was attacking, cannot attack for 1...4...5s

"Ye Scurvy Dog" 10/-/20
Shout. all foes in the area become diseased for 10s (50% failure < 4)

Down with the ship: 5/-/45
Skill. if you die within the next 30...45...60s, all team mates are healed for 30...60...80 health. Healing is doubled on any team mates under 50% health.

Walk The plank! (Elite) 10/-/30
If Target foe is moving, they are struck for 20...75...100 damage and knocked down for 3s.

I literally thought up this build as i typed it, because i've just watched PotC2, so i'm feeling piratey.

Pirates can't use rapiers, they used sabers, rapiers are way to light and fragile.

If you slam one of them tick ship ropes with a true rapier, the rapier would break and only leave a scratch on the rope.

What you need is broader, bruter and tougher sabers. (sabers are the ones with the curve in them, true rapiers are straight and flexible)

And also why make a class based on PotC2? sure its a good movie, but do you know any good game at all that is licensed off a movie?
I doubt there is one.

IMO that is a acceptable/reasonable RTS not a good one!
However my argument is not as great as it does have too much to do with personal taste.

Nope I mean sabres, those where what they used in the PotC movies.
And lyra is right too I forgot all about cutlasses.

But Manga you are right about the Scimitar, PotC is Carribian themed about 300-400 years beond GW, when there where gunz and stuff.
The pirates that where around long before the Caribean was even discovered did indeed use scimitars.

Just so you know, if it wasn't blatently obvious, this isn't a real CC, just a fun idea with some moderately overpowered skills.

Yea.. I think sabre and cutlass were used more. Actually, as a common pirate, you would be using what you could found on the ship.. and that include axes, clubs, harpoons, hooks, and such. And yeah.. flintlock pistoles.

-----------------------------------

anyhow.. in reviewing the OP... its not too bad... some fun skills here and there... not matching well with the overall theme of GW, but who can blame if we all want to be a priate deep in our heart somewhere....
